Words & Music by Kevin Michael Thompson

Additional Musicians:
Margaux Lienard: violin, bouzouki
Jeff Severt: bass
Toby Wilson: guitars, banjo

Notes: This song was written in 2010 and originally had a gypsy-jazz type of feel. It was actually written on a Django Reinhardt model guitar while my family was living (short term) in the mountains of Arizona.

Lyrics

Verse One
I woke up and took one last look around
Nothing moved, nothing made a sound
And the air was so thick a man could barely breath
When I set out among the thieves

Verse Two
I set out and never did I look back
The king was gunning with an army at my back
With a sword so sharp a man would bleed and bleed
When I set out among the thieves

Chorus
Oh won't you meet me
Where the heavens kiss the skies
And won't you meet me
Cross the desert moon at night
And won't you meet me
When springtime is in bloom
Oh won't you meet me I'm leaving soon

Verse Three
One-armed Jack's got a wondering heart as well
His mama would cry 'cause daddy could never make bail
Tried scratching a living among the priests
Now he's on the lam among the thieves

Verse Four
Gypsy, Gypsy my oh my oh me
She left home in one, nine, two, and three
She said "I don't owe nobody, nobody owes me
So I'm cashing in among the thieves"

Chorus
Oh won't you meet me
Where the heavens kiss the skies
And won't you meet me
Cross the desert moon at night
And won't you meet me
When springtime is in bloom
Oh won't you meet me I'm leaving soon
